Desirée Nelson is a seasoned Specialty Tea Master Blender and Industry Specialist with over two decades of experience and certification from the Specialty Tea Institute. She is a driving force for innovation and sustainability in the tea world. Desirée currently holds pivotal committee positions with the American Herbal Products Association (AHPA) in Sustainability and Tea Infusions, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to eco-friendly practices and creative tea-making.
With a diverse background, from owning a tea blending business to crafting award-winning recipes for major brands and contributing to the entire tea supply chain, Desirée is a relentless advocate for sustainable sourcing, fostering organic farming, and championing regenerative agriculture. Her contributions to promoting sustainability extend beyond business, with philanthropic efforts that include planting a minimum of 25 trees per month through donations to the National Forest Foundation and over 600 trees already planted, as well as contributing time and dollars to the Fallbrook Land Conservation.
Desirée has also shared her expertise by teaching blending classes at the Tea Symposium at UC Davis. Her holistic approach to tea blends her deep-rooted passion for wellness, a journey she shares through educational cupping sessions and a profound understanding of consumer preferences.
